Luken Memorials is a family owned business that established its home base & carving center in Yankton, SD nearly sixty years ago and traces its roots in the granite memorial industry to before the turn of the 20th century. Subsequent expansion has placed Luken Memorials stores in Sioux City, IA, Norfolk, NE and Sioux Falls, SD. Luken Memorials also operates West River Monument Co. with carving center and displays in Rapid City, SD and Hot Springs, SD and recently opened smaller, conveniently located satellite displays in Tyndall, SD and Onawa, IA. Luken Memorials has been crafting memorials in area communities for many decades, incorporating changes in technology as it became available. Today, Luken's special laser engraving system can depict full-photo scenes of a home, family or favorite fishing spot or other images to honor a loved one. Luken also inserts lasered black granite plaques into colored granite memorials to provide extra flexibility and color contrast.
