My Condolences was birthed in 2020 during the global coronavirus pandemic. While watching the news, we all felt the pain of multitudes of families who were left to grieve alone. It was such a helpless feeling. Around this same time, two friends reminded me of the idea I had in college, and the work to create My Condolences began almost immediately. It was then that I decided to pursue my idea of a self-serve, virtual memorial service platform to allow family and friends to gather no matter the circumstances or distance. This time, the feeling of helplessness was driving me. The idea for My Condolences took on a life of its own and things started falling into place very quickly. With new developments in technology, the My Condolences platform goes beyond posting heartfelt sentiments and sending virtual flowers, to live to stream, donating to charity, sharing pictures, videos, and messages, and so much more. I spent every available moment, working on the My Condolences platform. Within one year, I officially launched My Condolences.
