HOW DO I KNOW WHICH LAWYER IS BEST FOR MY CASE? This is a difficult time in your life. If you have a personal injury or wrongful death claim, you may be suffering from serious bodily injuries or have known someone who has died because of a car accident or someones wrongdoing. You are looking for a lawyer who is going to obtain the maximum amount of compensation for your injuries. If you have been arrested, you have been charged with a crime, been to jail, or are worried about being sent to prison. You are looking for a lawyer who is going to protect your good name and keep you out of jail. The question is How do I find the right lawyer for me? How do I find the right lawyer for my criminal case? How do I find the right lawyer for my personal injury case? Since the dawn of the internet, Google, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and many other search providers have been the first place people go to find a lawyer. The problem is, the attorney or law firm with the fanciest website, or the attorney or law firm with the first website to pop-up after entering your search query may not be the best fit for you or your case. Unfortunately, with thousands of new lawyers graduating from law schools each year, the competition for clients has grown exponentially. Lets face it. A website is an advertisement. They are designed to drive traffic, customers or clients to your business. The internet is a starting point for finding an attorney but a fancy website should not be the deciding factor. You should speak to the potential attorney, preferably in person, and ask these questions: 1.How many similar cases has the attorney handled? 2.Has the attorney had a jury trial on a case similar to mine? 3.What were the results of those cases? 4.Which lawyer in the firm will be working on my case? 5.Will there be any limitations on the scope of the representation? 6.How will you be kept informed about the progress of the case? 7.How quickly does the attorney respond to phone calls and e-mails? 8.How can I reach the attorney after normal business hours? 9.How will the attorney be paid? Hourly? Fixed Fee? Contingent Fee? You should speak to several different attorneys before making your decision. This is an important decision and it should not be based solely on an advertisement.
