A grapefruit -- known historically as the ‘forbidden fruit’ is a very relatable moniker when it comes to the LGBTQ community. Taking back this definition and using it to create a community space for all that focuses on empowerment, diversity and inclusivity. A space for all people with quality products that are accessible to the mass market. Without explicitly stating that this is a gender-neutral store, we welcome everyone to shop at Grapefruit and invite you to be you. Grapefruit was opened in November 2019 by two friends and proud long time local residents of the Church and Wellesley Village. We love Toronto’s vibrant community and its allies, which is why we wanted to bring something new to our neighbours and friends. We like to say we are proudly independent and locally owned.
