These services are much more effective than the normalized operating system services and also simple for programmers to use, particularly with respect to communication with diverse terminal devices. CICS application is written in a variety of programming languages and use CICS-supplied language extensions to interact with resources such as files, database, connections, and terminals or to invoke functions such as Web Services. CICS handles the end-to-end transaction so if in between any part of the transaction fails all the recovery changes can be backed out.
